“I mean I know it’s not a date technically. It’s literally been 24 hours since their breakup,” I admitted to Ty on the phone. Ty replied, “Yes Liv, I am aware it’s not a date but you’re making a really big deal about the invitation. The jock is just sweet and keeps his circle reserved. He invited you because you weren’t blabbering constantly to him. I still don’t understand why, but still. He could just be nice. Like you said, it's literally been 24 hours since he broke up with Heather. And he got dumped. Maybe he still liked her. Just don’t think too much about it and seriously don’t read too much into it. Promise me!!” “Okay okay. Jeez. I promise. I won’t read too much into it. And like I told you the only reason I wasn’t ‘blabbering’ was because I was deep into thought about 13 other mysteries of nature,” I remarked through the phone. Ty just let out a chuckle and went on talking about his date with the library girl. “She doesn't work at the library, you know. I call her library girl only because we had our first date in the library, and I refer to her as that so when I go on future dates with other women you don’t get confused between all the women.” I burst into fits of laughter. Ty got annoyed and belted through my laughter, “Okay, Liv I am gonna go now, lemme know if you’ll need a ride back.” I nodded and he flipped me off and hung up. He and I both knew he wasn’t going to go on multiple dates, but I wasn’t going to focus on his date. I was going to focus on my ‘non-date’

I didn’t want to go too early for the party, so I started getting ready at 7. I took a nice shower and blow dried my hair; in record time might I add. I was done by 7:45. I had already picked an outfit for myself. I had picked a short, printed back and white skirt that came mid-thigh. I paired it with a white corset top, just slightly revealing, nothing too much. I stacked some bracelets on one of my wrists and put on a black scrunchie on my other one. I then wore a necklace and put another beaded one around it. I made my own jewellery which was always a plus because they could match perfectly with my outfits. I wore black earrings and my white heels. I even put on some light makeup, topped it with a nude pink lipstick and I was ready to go.

I was 8:15 by the time mama and I walked out the door. She was going to drop me to Sammy’s house which was 10 drive from my house.

We sat in the car and strapped on our seatbelts. Mama asked me, “Ma Cherie, es-tu sûre que tout ira bien?” Classic. “Yes mama, I will be okay. I know it is my first party here, but I will be fine. Don’t worry about me,” I assured her. She smiled and said in her heavy French accent, “Okay, fine. I believe you but if you need me to come and take you home, just call me.” “Mama, Ty will pick me up. Please don’t worry about me, nothing will happen. Now, can we go?” “Yes, mon bébé.” She smiled and started the car. We played 3 songs, throughout the ride and she chose 1, I chose 2. She had chosen `Until I found you' by Em Beihold and Stephen Sanchez while I chose ‘Harleys in Hawaii’ by Katy Perry and ‘no body, no crime’ by Taylor Swift.

When we reached, she gave me a kiss, I left after saying goodbye and she drove off.

I entered the gates, they were tall iron gates, like the gates of Malfoy Manor in Harry Potter. I imagined the place to be very vintage and old school, but the minute I went inside, the whole place was blowing up with music. There were people in the yard which was less of a yard and more of a pool area. It was huge. Half of it was covered in green, neatly trimmed grass and half of it had a white tiled area, with a pool in its centre, this was just outside. I wondered what the inside looked like. I stepped inside and found a huge living room covered with art on the walls. It had marble flooring and cream painted walls with blue decor. The furniture was also blue themed with a white couch and matching white armchairs facing a blue table, all had blue cushions and I loved it all because blue was my happy colour. The kitchen was towards the end, but I was pretty sure I could not reach it because of the amount of people that stood dancing in the hallway. I wondered why Ayan said it was an invite only party because the amount of people that showed up was surely a lot for just a close friends party. I wondered what the parties here were like. If these many people showed up at a close-friends one, I wonder how many would show up at an open party. I searched the room for any sign of Ayan, he was nowhere to be found, so I took out my phone to text him, when I found the hair on the back of my neck rising and the feeling, I was getting outside the library was back again. I was not able to breathe properly, my hands started shivering and before my legs would stop functioning, I stepped out to get some fresh air. Maybe being around all these people was overwhelming for me. This was turning out to be a nightmare. I rushed out and took a few deep breaths. I still couldn’t breathe properly. My hands started shivering even more and I was desperately in need of some warmth. It felt like it was 2 degrees around here. I regretted wearing the short skirt and short sleeved top. My legs gave up and I fell down huddled up near the door. I needed help. I tried to see if anyone would look at me, but no one did and even if I called out to someone the music was just too loud and I wouldn’t be able to yell loud enough for people or a person to hear me. I saw a bald guy walking near the wall. I tried to keep my eyes open so I wouldn’t pass out. I really needed him to look at me and he was easily just a few feet away from me. I tried to drag myself from the floor to him, until he could see me. It was taking me so long to reach that I was going to freeze to death today. My hands and legs started becoming blue and I wasn’t even understanding how it was happening to me only while everyone else was having the time of their lives. It all happened so quickly I couldn’t even understand. How did I turn blue just by entering this party? I tried to lift my hand so the bald guy would see. He was a little old it seemed, like he was probably the oldest at the party. He was dressed in all balck and I didn’t have enough time or energy or life left in me to notice anything else. I dragged myself a couple inches but in vain. I accepted my fate. I was never going to reach that man in time and I was probably going to pass out any minute. I sat and stared at myself. It was driving me mad. I only hoped Ayan or Sammy would find me in here, because if anyone else came, they would think I just passed out from drinking too much. I looked toward the pool with heavy lidded eyes but it wasn’t exactly in front of the wall, there was a great chance nobody was going to notice I was there even if they would go in or come out of the front door of the house. My only hope was the bald guy who might notice once he would go from his side of the wall to the door. I eventually fell unconscious and passed out in a matter of seconds thinking about how blue I had become and how I desperately needed the heat from Ayan’s word and presence. It was all I needed before I fell into oblivion.
