Ayan

I woke up in the morning and found myself on the floor with the lights on in the room. It took me a few moments to remember what happened. I had come into Ivy's room and asked her if I could sleep on her floor last night. The truth was I was a little scared to sleep alone. I didn't want the half man half ghost to come in my room and strangle cum burn me to death, because he would start to choke me, my vocal cords would literally melt, and render me speechless, and we can't have that now can we. I felt safer with Ivy in the room, because at least, she would be there. The worst part was I could not touch him. Which meant, I could neither defend Ivy nor myself. It was Ivy who had to fight him and protect herself as well as me as well as Ty and Sammy. She was brave no doubt, but Salvatore was one huge man cum ghost. Who knew what power he held. I still asked her for permission last night because if he would come for her, I could protect her from him. After all, I could see him and his moves. I was glad I woke up alive and Ivy was safe too.

I got up and gathered the blanket and pillow and walked up to the room I was supposed to be sleeping in. I reached the door, and turned back to see Ivy, still fast asleep, all peaceful and heavenly. Her head was resting on the pillow, her right hand beside it, and her left hand resting beside her body, near her leg. Her eyelids were slightly parted, but I know she was asleep because some people sleep like that. Sammy's eyes also didn't close all the way when he slept, some people just can't shut their eyes completely when they sleep. She looked so calm and void of all fear or tension, I wish she could stay tension free for as long as she could.

She turned to her side and changed her position. I took the opportunity to reach for the switchboard near the nightstand and switch off the lights behind the bed. The room was extremely bright because of the morning sun and the lights were not adding to the brightness as such.

I turned around to go to the room and keep the blanket and pillow, but I felt a grip on my hand. I turned back to see Ivy was up, and she had grabbed my hand before I left the room. The hazel in her eyes looked so gorgeous. Her hair was a little messy, but I liked it. This was the first time I had seen a girl with her bedhead. Heather never let me see her without makeup on. Ivy, on the other hand, I had never seen with makeup on, except for the party. She didn't even need makeup.

She looked at me and urged me to sit on her bed, by looking at the space on the corner of the bed beside her. I sat down, and waited for her to open her eyes completely, she still was not completely awake. Which meant, my movement near her woke her up. She rubbed her eyes and broke the comfortable silence, "Bonjour. Someone's up early on a Sunday morning." She spoke in her French accent.

"I could say the same for you Smurf. I thought you said you were a heavy sleeper." I teased.

She got up, and rested her back on the bedrest, muttering, "Oh Mon Dieu," in the process. Her tired eyes and messy hair weren't enough and then she added the tank top she had on last night in the mix. Which made me think of the skirt that she would be wearing under the tank top. Oh my God indeed.

Then she grabbed a pillow from beside her and held it, with both her hands on either end of the pillow and swung it over her head and with force she brought it closer to my face and before I could dodge it, she hit me with the pillow. The zipper of the pillowcase hit my cheek and God it hurt.

"Ow," I yelped, rubbing my cheek, "What was that for!? That zipper really hurts, you know."

"Calling me Smurf first thing in the morning, Aldair, isn't going to earn you rainbows." She smirked at me, "And stop whining like a small child, it's just a pillow, consider yourself lucky."

"Oh, believe me I do, now drag your ass out of the bed and come down for breakfast. There will be a toothbrush and toothpaste in the drawer in the bathroom," I said, glancing at the bathroom door.

"Non. Just 5 more minutes," She lay down on her pillow again and covered herself with the blanket again.

"Fine," I got up and pulled the blanket away from her and dragged it with me towards the door, leaving her without one. It made her immediately whine and look at me with a frowning face. "Stop whining like a child," I teased, using her own words against her. She got up and threw another pillow on my head, but I ducked this time. I walked out of the room, with two blankets and one pillow, but I inserted just my head back inside the room, looking at Ivy and said, "Have a good morning, Ivy," I couldn't help myself from laughing, as she immediately got up and shut the door in my face, after yelling "Fuck off!!"

I couldn't stop laughing all the way to my room and almost fell because of laughing so hard and carrying the blankets that my leg almost got wrapped in. I balanced myself, still not able to stop laughing. I reached my room, placed the pillow on the bed and folded the blankets and put them inside the drawer under the bed.

I shut the door of my bedroom and entered the bathroom. It had marble tiles, on the floor and granite walls, with glass doors surrounding the shower, a gorgeous white porcelain wash basin on a black marble counter and wooden drawers. Above the washbasin was a huge round glass mirror with a switch beside it to illuminate the corners of the glass from behind with light.

I opened the top drawer, to get a spare toothbrush I keep for whenever I stay over at Sammy's house. Sammy and I keep a few essentials at each other's houses for the times we would be staying over at each other's places. I couldn't find my toothbrush in the top drawer so I hunched my back to open the second one, only to find nothing in there either.

I sat on my knees on the floor, to open the cabinet at the bottom, to find my toothbrush and toothpaste in a porcelain toothbrush holder cup. I reached over and grabbed both of them along with the holder and closed the cabinet doors. I got up and my eyes met a pair of grey eyes and orange lips in the mirror smiling at me.

The devilish face and smile startled me, and I dropped the contents of my hand. They fell on the floor with a loud crash, which sent the porcelain pieces flying everywhere on the floor. I turned around quickly after a moment of paralysis to open the bathroom door. I twisted the doorknob restlessly to open the door, but it was locked. From the outside!? I turned my head back to face the mirror to see the face gone. I exhaled a breath, and slowly turned my head back to the door, to find Salvatore standing between the door and my body with a devilish grin on his face that sent a cold shiver down my spine, making the hair on my nape rise to stiff points. I started shaking and the burn on my shoulder started burning. I yelled with all my will, "HELPPP," hoping someone would hear it, even though my voice was shivering at this time. I fell on my knees, my hand rushed to cover the burn to shield it from hurting more, all in vain. The pressure on the wound only helped momentarily till the burn came on stronger, "Aah!!"

"You cannot shield that girl from me or him." Salvatore declared. I was shaking so much, it was giving him an inhumane pleasure in watching me writhe in cold and pain.

"I don't think I need to, she can save herself." I muttered with all the courage and power I could muster.

"Don't be silly, you naive and innocent child. I will take what belongs to us and I will not tolerate anyone who comes in the way. If your life is dear to you boy, stay the fuck out of this." He came so close to me I could feel his breath on my face. My skin started turning blue and the burn started to ignite my skin in such heat and pain, I fell on my back, with my knees shaking and my hand clutching my shoulder tightly, like my life depended on it. Maybe it did, I didn't know how, but the burn connected me to Salvatore. It was like he marked me, and I was somehow his property.

My eyes started falling shut, but a loud bang made me open my eyes, to see glimpses of people. The temperature started increasing again around me. I heard another loud crash, and then I saw ashes falling on the floor, but I couldn't perceive anything more as my eyes shut themselves. I fell into blessed oblivion, and I couldn't be more thankful for it.

Ivy

I started panicking and we all started to call Ayan, but no sound came from inside. My body suddenly fell to the ground, in a matter of seconds my legs gave up and the blood started draining from my face. The guys were too busy trying to bang on the door, to look at me. I tried to get up and muster some courage to get back up on my feet. I took help from the lamp beside me, it was a tall lamp that was beside me on the floor and I touched it to get some support to get up. The second I touched the lamp, my legs gained all their power, and I got up after Ayan snatched my blanket first thing in the morning. Although to be fair, I did hit him with a pillow pretty hard, but I can argue that was his fault because I am not a morning person. Clearly.

I dragged my ass off the bed, walking on the carpeted floor to the bathroom. I gripped the cold knob and opened the oakwood door, stepping inside, switching the light on before entering.

It was a magnificent bathroom. I never thought I would use that word to describe a bathroom, but Oh. My. God. It had marble flooring, white and golden marble walls and a beautiful circular mirror right in front of the door. My face was the first thing I saw in that mirror, and God I looked so disgusting. I looked very tired, and had goop in my eyes, bags had formed under my eyes, and my hair was such a mess. I noticed my cheeks going red thinking about the embarrassing encounter with Ayan first thing in the morning. There was a marble wash basin under the mirror with a long and broad counter, where there were two white vases with fake wheat shaped plants. I don't know what they were called but they looked pretty on either side of the counter.

There was a cabinet underneath the basin, and I opened it to see guest towels, toothbrushes, a toothbrush holder, toothpaste and a bathrobe. I bent down to get the toothpaste along with the toothbrush and fish out the toothbrush holder from the cabinet. I brought it back up and kept it on the counter. I started brushing my teeth and looked around to adore this beautiful bathroom. It was thrice as big as mine and on the left side of the wash basin, were three glass doors enclosing the shower area and the wall. Beside the shower area, was the toilet.

I rinsed my mouth and stepped in the shower area to grab the face wash tube to wash my face. I scrubbed my face and felt so much better with the peach scent masking my face. I wiped my face with the towel and stepped outside, feeling so much better about my appearance.

I flicked the switch to turn off the lights and decided to walk over to Ayan's room and walk down with him to breakfast.

I walked out of the room and shut the door behind me, grabbing my phone from the nightstand. I texted my mom and made sure to tell her I would be home soon, so she doesn't worry. My mother has always worried about me ever since.....

Okay, this is not the time to think about all that happened. I was walking towards Ayan's room and I saw Sammy coming from the opposite end. He smiled at me and returned his smile, and we kept walking towards the door of the room.

He stopped outside the door and since the door was shut, we both awkwardly looked at each other to see who would knock and with the help of some awkward unspoken communication, we both raised our hands to knock and retrieved them after seeing each other's attempt to knock. We awkwardly smiled at each other and suddenly Ty came out of nowhere and started banging the door.

It seemed so unlike him to be so bold and loud. He wrapped an arm around my neck, and it all happened so fast, I forgot to greet Sammy.

"Umm...Good morning, Sammy. Did you guys sleep well?", I directed my question to both the guys.

"Kinda yeah, what about you, no nightmares right?" Sammy asked me, showing genuine concern on his face.

"Oh, how will she," Ty smirked, "Ayan slept in her room after all."

Sammy seemed surprised but he tried his best to hide it.

"No not like that, he slept on the floor, he couldn't sleep in his-"

I was interrupted with a loud crash from the inside. All 3 of us looked at each other in shock and Sammy rushed in to open the door. We all walked in to see the lights turned off, the curtains closed and the room in complete darkness. Ayan was nowhere to be seen. Ty immediately reached for the bathroom door, but he couldn't open it.

"Fuck's sake, its locked from the inside." He cursed.

I took the lamp in my hand, ready to take down Salvatore, who might have been inside. Sammy saw the lamp in my hand and something in him clicked. He shoved Ty and Ty protested, "Hey!!" in objection but he refused to listen. He took a few steps back and both Ty and I realised he was going to break the door down, or at least try to. He ran and took large steps towards the door, and before his shoulder could touch the door, some sort of invisible shield pushed him back. At least that is what I am thinking because his body just bounced back, like some invisible wall lay there stopping him. He fell with so much force on the ground, but I didn't have time for that.

I don't know why, but it was a split-second decision, and I ran for the door with the lamp in my hand because I didn't have time to put it down. I was worried that Salvatore might be in there and Ayan cannot defend himself from Salvatore. I closed my eyes, ran towards the door in an attempt to break it. My shoulder didn't meet whatever barrier that prevented Sammy from going through the door, it touched the door and with a lot of force but the door flung open. The most surprising part was that my shoulder met the door, and the force was not strong enough to break through a strong ass oakwood door, and my shoulder didn't even hurt. The door flung open like I ran towards a pair of curtains.

The three of us entered to see Ayan on the floor and I saw Salvatore's bald head hovering over him. I raised the lamp with force, in order to hit him. The grey of his eyes met mine, and the lamp passed through his disappearing body, making ashes fly around the bathroom. Ayan's t-shirt had a hole burned on the spot Salvatore had touched him yesterday. The wound was fresh again, and Ayan's amber met my hazel and his eyelids shut. I saw a glimpse of peace in his eyes before they shut, and that brought me a modicum of peace. I managed to save him again.

For better reference, here is the bathroom picture for Ivy's bathroom. Isn't it pretty. This is closest picture I could find on Pinterest based on my description.
